Maintenance of a controlled domestic ventilation system

Simple basic rules help you to keep the ventilation system in the best condition. To ensure that no component of the controlled ventilation system is forgotten, we have compiled a clear list to help you check the ventilation system.

  • Observe the maintenance interval of the manufacturer and replace the filters regularly.

  • Please do not wash filters. Filters should be replaced! The characteristics of the filter are impaired or even destroyed and can lead to heavy soiling, cancellation of the manufacturer's warranty or even to the failure of your controlled living space ventilation / ventilation system.

  • Clean the air intake covers and grilles in the living rooms regularly. Do not forget to replace the exhaust filters, if any.

  • Check the intake grille / intake tower of the outside air. This should not show any damages or holes. Also take a look at the exhaust air opening.

  • Check the inside of your ventilation system for dirt. Contamination should always occur before a filter, never afterwards. Dirty areas can be carefully cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Please note that no sensors will be damaged.

  • Check the inside of the system for condensation water and its drain. Condensation can lead to mold growth and unpleasant odors.

  • Check whether the seals on the covers and lids still fulfil their purpose and are not dirty. If necessary, a rubber seal can be treated sparingly with a silicone pin.

  • Open the service flaps of the ventilation pipes and take a look inside. Moisture or even mould are a sign that something is wrong. Contact an expert. The ventilation pipes should also be clean. There may still be dirt from the construction phase in the pipes

  • Don't forget the prefilter. It is possible that your plant has an additional pre-filter next to the actual plant or directly at the fresh air supply (outside air, box, tower). This must also be checked and replaced regularly.

  • Check the programming of the system. For example, due to a power failure, the ventilation program can no longer meet your needs. Take a look at this.

In case of uncertainty, contact a certified technician to have the system checked.
